Running & Essential Tremor's

I am new to this blogging, but here go's.
I have been a serious runner since 1984. & got to a good level of fitness.IE sub 3hrs for marathons.
Then in 2001 I developed the shakes, which were diagnosed as Essential Tremors & was put on Beta Blockers, I got rid of Beta Blockers after 3 months.
My running took a downturn because I could not run on a regular basis, because I was getting a lactic acid effect because of the tremors, so I almost gave running up.
I have finally, this year 2006, got some kind of training program going, & mentally got it all back, so I am hoping to get back to racing at a decent level for my age, I am 60 next year. I am at present doing about 40mls per week with 1 run of 15mls. Before the tremors I did between 50-70 mls per week.
I write this in the hope that it may help anyone else with this problem.
